Things I Brought With Me
This is everything that I brought with me. Although I traveled to the boat by car, everything I brought had to go back as airplane luggage, so there were definite limits. Everything fit into two soft-sided duffel bags (checked bags) plus one small day pack (carry on).
The list has some cold-weather clothes that I mostly used before leaving, since I joined the boat several days early. However, I did use some cool-weather clothes during the voyage, especially at the beginning.

- Long pants - 2 pr blue jeans (wear one)
- Short pants - 2 pr
- Underpants - 1 to 2 weeks worth
- Long johns (top and bottom)
- Shirts - short sleeve pocket knit shirts, 1 to 2 weeks worth
- T-shirts for "sloppy" wear, instead of knit shirts
- Nightwear - T-shirt, pajamas
- Cool-weather clothes - fleece shirt, fleece pullover, fleece cap, windbreaker
- Socks - 1 to 2 weeks worth
- Shoes - non-marking boat shoes
- Boating hat - with retainer
- Baseball caps - 2
- Belt
- Sweat towels - 2 (in grocery bag)
- Bath towels - 1 (in grocery bag)
- Washcloth - in ziplock bag
- Personal
- Toiletries - carrying case, soap in soap dish, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush and case, plastic cup, deodorant, antifungal cream, hand lotion, nail clippers, nail file, tweezers, dental floss, Q-tips, hair brush, electric razor (with tape on switch)
- White clips - for use in head to hold towels
- Comb - 2
- Wristwatch
- Wallet - with updated telephone number list, also with e-mail and web site addresses for everything I use
- Sunglasses - 2 pair, with retainers
- Journal - notebook for journal
- Pocket note pad - spiral bound
- Memo notepad - tear-off pad

- Antihistamine - generic, low-dose, no other medicine mixed-in

- Photography stuff - Sony camera, two memory sticks, charger, extra battery, remote control, mini tripod, ND800 filter, polarizer filter, digital wallet to download camera, charger, USB cable
- GPS - with alkaline batteries, no other accessories
- Voice recorder - with alkaline batteries
- CD-ROM - with manuals, weather info, etc.
- Boating Gear
- Foul-weather gear - rain suit top and bottom
- Harness - with two tethers
- Flashlight with batteries - LED flashlight, small Maglight
- Headlamp with batteries and spare bulb (which I neglected to bring)
- Personal strobe light, with fresh battery
- Extra AA and AAA batteries
- Emergency whistle
- Leatherman - in checked baggage
- Sailing knife - in checked baggage
