I took this picture through the windshield as we were driving along near the beginning of the tour. This is all farmland, and in fact a grove of fruit trees is growing to the left of the road.  

 
We came across this roadsign that says (in Spanish), "Danger—Tortoise Crossing". It's not like in the States where some motorists try to run over a turtle crossing the road. Here, if you hit one of the Giant Tortoises, you'd no doubt wreck your car.   At one point we passed a few cattle grazing under a tree.
