Heading Home: Visiting Charlotte Amalie (continued)

Two interior views of the atrium of the Grand Galleria, located next to Emancipation Park. This large structure was built in the 1800s and originally was Charlotte Amalie's Grand Hotel. After extensive remodeling in the late 1990s, it was reopened as a collection of tourist shops. Click on either picture to see a bigger version; use your browser's "back" command to return here.

Looking out a side doorway of the Grand Galleria.   A street bazaar along the waterfront road.

Shortly after I arrived and started walking along the waterfront, I saw this seaplane land and taxi over to shore by the Customs/Immigration building. Later on, I took these pictures of the seaplane taking off again. According to its registration number (N562CP), it's a deHavilland Twin Otter DHC-6 built in 1977.
