This sailboat wasn't racing but instead was just cruising around enjoying a day of fine sailing. The boat is Miguelete, an Alberg 37 hailing from Puerto Montt, Chile, back on the mainland. This boat normally was moored in the small harbor at Hanga Piko.

 
People have their hands clamped over their ears because the soldier is about to fire a shot as a race boat crosses the finish line.   The commando dinghy ferrying people ashore.
