A dramatic backlit scene of the moai on Ahu Tongariki with Rano Raraku in the background. Like all moai, the moai at Ahu Tongariki were carved out of the volcanic stone at the quarry on Rano Raraku.

Off to the side of Ahu Tongariki, there was a small camp where an ongoing archaeological investigation is taking place. There was no one there when I visited.		This is a view of the small boat basin at Hotu Iti. David and Marcie tied up the dinghy here when they visited, but I didn't get to visit that day because the weather deteriorated.
