Visiting Isla Isabela in the Galápagos Archipelago

Tortoise Breeding Center (continued)

The story continues on the next page.

We saw these birds on the path to the tortoise breeding center.

At the beginning of the path, we passed through an area of shallow lagoons where we saw a few flamingos feeding in the lagoon. Their bill has a built-in sieve to strain small food particles out of the water.

One of the lagoons was covered with scum that looked to be very biologically active.
