Sailing To New York City

Sailing To The Head Of Chesapeake Bay (continued)

The story continues after this page of pictures of the Canadian schooner Bluenose II, which is the tall-ship sailing ambassador of the Province of Nova Scotia. As an aside, for many years, Bluenose II was noted as having the largest working mainsail in the world, measuring 4,155 square feet (with a total sail area of 11,150 square feet). However in 2003, a huge 246-foot-long sloop Mirabella was constructed that had a larger mainsail.
