Sailing to the British Virgin Islands in the Caribbean 1500

Visiting Road Town: Around Town (continued)

The headquarters of the British Virgin Islands Red Cross, on Station Avenue at the intersection with Waterfront Drive. There is a big billboard in the front stating "Avoiding HIV/AIDS is as easy as... A - Abstinence, B - Be Faithful, C - Condomize".

The whole island of Tortola has only one traffic light, and here it is, at the intersection of Waterfront Drive and Station Avenue (or Road, there's some conflicting information).   Nearby, there are a few old buildings that used to be a sugar refinery in the late 1700s and a cotton factory in the early 1900s; it's now a tourist site. Talk about finding strange things along the road: While walking back to the hotel, I came across an old floppy disk in the gutter that looked like it had arrived spontaneously via time travel. It was for Logitech character recognition software, dated 1989. How in the world did it get HERE?
