Visiting Ecuador

Miscellaneous Local Details (continued)

Here are more pictures of the area around La Libertád.

Street scene in downtown La Libertád.   A local bus. The man in the doorway is the conductor, who collects the fare. Conductors also whistle and shout to people on the street, trying to drum up business.

A taxi and bus on one of the main streets of La Libertád. On the hood of the taxi, it says "Taxi Ruta". This means the taxi follows a pre-determined route. You can get on or off at any of the stops along the route. The fare is very low (about 35 cents).   Street scene.

The La Libertád firehouse.   La Bamba is a store that sold plastic containers; we went there several times.
